Peter Coats is the Research Manager for Choose New Jersey, Inc., an independently funded and operated 501(c)(3) whose mission is to encourage and nurture economic growth throughout New Jersey with a focus on urban centers. He is responsible for supporting the lead generation and business development efforts of the economic development team. Mr. Coats began his tenure with the organization as an economic development intern in the summer of 2011, conducting both research and analysis of economic and business issues within New Jersey. Prior to returning to Choose New Jersey, Inc. as an employee in November 2012, Mr. Coats served as a Research Project Assistant at Mathematica Policy Research in Princeton. His responsibilities there included locating respondents for nationwide surveys and maintaining relationships with prospective research participants. During his undergraduate career, Mr. Coats received the Roebling Scholarship for Study Abroad in the spring of 2011 and travelled to Amman, Jordan for two internships: one with the USAID Water Reuse and Environmental Conservation Project, and one with International Solutions Group. In Fall 2011, he interned at the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia where he conducted research, assisted in the planning and organizing of events and programs, and lead community outreach. Mr. Coats graduated cum laude from The College of New Jersey, with a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Arabic.
