Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator plays a critical role in the marketing department of Choose New Jersey, an economic development organization for the State. The Marketing Coordinator will support the organization, including event and marketing planning, design and execution. The right person will be comfortable in an “all hands-on deck” environment, able to operate and coordinate across multiple departments, and can thrive in a culture that rewards hard work and initiative.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support major events by coordinating logistics including travel, hotel, registration and briefing documents
  • Assist in the planning and execution of in-state local events, from early planning to set-up
  • Maintain a list of company-wide events and manage the event selection process
  • Coordinate and create PowerPoint presentations to support the business development team
  • Assist with digital marketing initiatives, including websites updates on WordPress and social media posts and graphics
  • Send daily briefings using media monitoring systems to ensure the organization is informed of business and economic development headlines
  • Update existing brochures and marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications or a related field)
  • 1-2 years of experience in related role
  • Event experience a plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Resourceful, well organized, deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be willing to travel, specifically to Newark and Princeton

Business Development Officer

The Business Development Officer (BDO) assists with lead generation activities and events to build and develop the economic development initiatives of Choose New Jersey.  Primary responsibility and lead contact for all activities in the logistics and infrastructure sector.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs business lead generation and economic development work. Work involves conducting industry/business analyses and preparing responses for requests for information.  Performs research and detailed analyses of the logistics and infrastructure sector.  Works under moderate supervision.
  • Assists with the attraction and recruitment of business and industry to the State of New Jersey and serves as Choose New Jersey’s designated representative with prospective clients. Works with Chief Economic Development Officer to identify resources and incentives, conduct discussions and negotiations to secure new business and collaborations.
  • Conducts proactive lead generation outreach. Establishes contacts to promote economic development activities, continually updates the CRM database and industry data.  Regularly maintains lead sources and key contacts.
  • Attends events, trade shows and conferences and meets with businesses in the logistics and infrastructure industry to identify business and collaboration opportunities for New Jersey.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations to businesses and key stakeholders.
  • Works with Choose New Jersey members and education advocates to identify new collaboration opportunities.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of economic marketing and outreach plans.
  • Researches economic data, analyzes the data and creates comparisons and summaries.
  • Establishes relationships with professional site selection consultants and economic incentives advisors and provides comprehensive economic data.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (business, economics, finance or a related field)
  • At least 5 years of experience in related role
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Excellent research capabilities, knowledge of economic development databases a plus
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of projects to achieve results
  • Resourceful, well organized, deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Customer Relationship Management Systems required
  • Must be willing to travel, domestic and international
  • Must possess a NJ driver’s license

Marketing Internship

The marketing department is currently seeking an intern to help maintain choosenj.com and marketing materials. As the Marketing Intern, you will have a focus on website and digital initiatives and will collaborate with our creative team. We are looking for a motivated intern that is eager to take on new challenges. Job responsibilities can be adjusted based on individual strengths. This is a paid position.

 

Job Description

  • Assist with growth of branding, digital marketing and event planning
  • Assist with updating and improving the website including regular content updates and building new pages via WordPress
  • Creation or modification of digital and social graphics (depending on individual’s skill set)
  • Supporting the marketing team by conducting additional research on companies and industries

Job Requirements

  • Should be working toward a degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or a related field
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite
