RU–Camden, Rowan University to receive $898K for scientific research
Rutgers University–Camden and Rowan University have been awarded $898,709 for their pharmacology, physiology and biological chemistry research programs from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institute of General Medical Sciences, U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross, D-1, announced Tuesday.
Rutgers University–Camden will receive $453,072 for research into understanding the function of cisregulatory modules. Rowan University will receive $445,637 for research into non-genetic influences on gene expression.
“Research innovation happens every day at Rutgers University–Camden, where our faculty and students generate original thinking and new ideas that advance our state and our nation,” Rutgers University–Camden Chancellor Phoebe Haddon said. “This grant from the National Institute of General Medical Science will allow Dr. Jongmin Nam to advance the type of cutting-edge work that is critical to our economic growth here in South Jersey.
