New Jersey Israel Center

New Jersey and Israel have a strong history of partnership, making our state a launchpad for Israeli companies looking to find success in North America.

Innovation Economies Growing Strong Together

Choose New Jersey first visited Israel with Governor Phil Murphy in 2018. We later established the New Jersey Israel Center in 2023, marking a historic milestone in the enduring partnership between New Jersey and Israel. This Center, founded during our fifth business attraction mission to Israel and in collaboration with the New Jersey-Israel Commission, embodies our commitment to strengthening the bonds between these two dynamic regions.

A Shared Ethos

Known as the “Startup Nation,” Israel has an innovation ecosystem that mirrors New Jersey’s economic growth. This shared ethos has fostered lasting ties, highlighted by the $1.72 billion generated in two-way trade in goods between New Jersey and Israel recorded in 2022. New Jersey is also home to the fourth-largest Israel-born population in the United States.

Our Services

The New Jersey Israel Center provides Israeli businesses with the tools and resources necessary for successful expansion into the U.S. market via New Jersey. Why Israeli Companies Choose New Jersey

A Strategic Location

New Jersey’s central location between Boston and Washington, D.C. gives Israeli companies easy access to over 46 million consumers within a four-hour drive, with increased same-day delivery options. Northeast New Jersey, just 20 minutes from NYC via PATH or ferry, offers 40% lower real estate costs than New York City.

A Transportation Hub

New Jersey’s infrastructure—highways, ports, and airports—facilitates efficient, cost-effective goods movement. Newark Liberty International offers 262 daily non-stop flights to 76 global destinations, and the Port of New York and New Jersey ensures swift cargo delivery. This strategic advantage helps manufacturers in New Jersey outpace competitors by reaching markets faster.

Join the Best of the Best

New Jersey is home to 14 Fortune 500 companies and over 1,100 multinational corporations, solidifying its position as a central hub for international commerce and innovation. The State boasts the highest concentration of engineers and scientists per square mile in the United States. With top-tier universities, research institutions, and proactive workforce development programs, New Jersey ensures a steady influx of skilled talent, driving innovation and supporting business growth.

Mush Foods was attracted to New Jersey’s strategic location and excellent education system. Mush Foods contacted us through the Choose New Jersey website thanks to the site’s search engine optimization, ensuring high visibility and engagement. We arranged to meet with the Israeli hybrid meat startup at the SelectUSA Investment Summit to help them establish a United States presence at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center (FIC). Our business development officers introduced Mush Foods to the New Jersey-Israel Commission, NJEDA, New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, and NJBAC. With these connections, they were able to sign a lease at the FIC in September.
