Choose New Jersey first visited Israel with Governor Phil Murphy in 2018. We later established the New Jersey Israel Center in 2023, marking a historic milestone in the enduring partnership between New Jersey and Israel. This Center, founded during our fifth business attraction mission to Israel and in collaboration with the New Jersey-Israel Commission, embodies our commitment to strengthening the bonds between these two dynamic regions.

Known as the “Startup Nation,” Israel has an innovation ecosystem that mirrors New Jersey’s economic growth. This shared ethos has fostered lasting ties, highlighted by the $1.72 billion generated in two-way trade in goods between New Jersey and Israel recorded in 2022. New Jersey is also home to the fourth-largest Israel-born population in the United States.

The New Jersey-Israel Commission, established in 1989, has been instrumental in promoting bilateral economic and cultural relations, spearheading initiatives that have increased collaborations in research between the two states.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is part of the busiest airport system in the country. EWR offers an average of five non-stop international flights to Israel daily; John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) offers an additional five. And, the deep waters of the Port of New York and New Jersey, the largest port on the East Coast, ensure cargo from anywhere reaches its destination.
