New Jersey India Center, established in 2019, signifies New Jersey’s dedication to nurturing economic ties with one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. New Jersey’s strong economic and cultural ties with India make it the perfect destination for Indian companies aiming to expand to the United States. To assist in that process, the New Jersey India Center has two locations, one in Delhi and one in Bengaluru. New Jersey is the only state with two offices in India! 

A Comprehensive Collaboration

New Jersey’s Global Economic Index names India the State’s top global economic partner. The relationship between New Jersey and India was further solidified in 2024 with the establishment of the New Jersey-India Commission. New Jersey is also the foremost U.S. location for job creation by Indian businesses and has the second-largest Indian-born population in the country.

Robbinsville is home to the world’s largest Akshardham temple complex, the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham. And “Little Gujarat” in Jersey City – also known as India Square – has one of the highest concentrations of Indians in the country. Lupin Pharmaceuticals

Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the third-largest pharmaceutical company in the United States by prescriptions, has its headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey. Since 2016, Lupin has invested over $1 billion in R&D and Manufacturing in the United States. Lupin employs 635 highly skilled and specialized employees in the U.S., with that number expected to grow as Lupin expands. In March 2016, Lupin acquired the Somerset facility for $880 million. Since acquisition, over 80 jobs have been created to support the site bringing the total number of employees in Somerset up to 380. 50 more jobs are expected to be added over the next 12 to 18 months. In addition, Lupin has invested around $35 million in R&D and infrastructure.

Global biotech company Enzene Biosciences, Ltd. will open its state-of-the-art, $50 million biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant on the Princeton West Innovation Campus in Hopewell, New Jersey.
