Digital Marketing Specialist

The Digital Marketing Specialist will directly support the Marketing team as the digital lead including website development, inbound marketing campaigns and various marketing-related tasks as needed.

This position will report to the Director of Creative & Digital Marketing. The expected start date is May 2021. The candidate must be comfortable working in a hybrid work environment (remote/virtual and in-person) during normal business hours (Monday- Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm). When in-person, the candidate will work at the newly constructed, modern office space at One Gateway Center in Newark located across the street from Newark Penn Station.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and maintain Choose New Jersey’s digital marketing strategy
  • Using HubSpot, optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels. Key focus on cultivating new MQLs by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content
  • Responsible for all Choose New Jersey websites, landing pages and digital assets including lead generation forms and integrations, SEO, and content updates. Serve as the main point of contact with web developer
  • Manage and track analytics across digital platforms and implement data-driven decisions to improve and evolve digital strategies
  • Lead the planning and marketing coordination of digital events and webinars through all areas of the project life cycle including messaging, PowerPoint presentations and third-party integrations
  • Support State of Innovation marketing campaign
  • Consistently research and stay current in the digital and B2B marketing trends and find new ways to drive qualified traffic to our websites
  • Strong team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate, and communicate with marketing teammates, business development and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications or a related field)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing or related field
  • Strong knowledge of HubSpot, WordPress, Google Analytics and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with paid channels including LinkedIn, Facebook and other ad networks
  • Demonstrated experience managing the development of marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and user experiences
  • Detail-oriented and deadline focused with intense attention to detail
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana a plus)
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects, work under pressure and take initiative
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will directly support the Marketing team as the graphic design lead with a focus on brochure and presentation collateral, social media, and various marketing and communications-related tasks as needed. 

This position will report to the Director of Creative & Digital Marketing. The expected start date is May 2021.   • Design and maintain brochures, marketing collateral, invitations and social graphics using Adobe Creative Suite. This position will be responsible for making sure the Choose New Jersey brand is upheld in all outward-facing documents
  • Coordinate and create PowerPoint presentations to support the business development team and quarterly board meetings
  • Assist with digital marketing initiatives, including website updates on WordPress and email marketing campaigns on HubSpot
  • Create social media graphics and messaging with a key focus on Instagram posts, stories and engagement
  • Manage daily briefings using media monitoring systems to ensure the organization is informed of business and economic development headlines
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate, and communicate with marketing teammates, business development and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications or a related field)
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in marketing or related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourceful, well organized, deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) required
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana a plus)
  • Familiarity with WordPress and HubSpot

Business Development Intern (REMOTE/VIRTUAL)

The business development department is currently seeking an intern to perform research and analysis in support of the organization’s policy and strategy. As the Business Development Intern, you will also provide data analytics and administrative support to assist with lead generation activities and request for information. This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn about the economic development field and support the work of showcasing the State of New Jersey as the best place to grow business.

This position will report to the Research Manager. This is a semester-long, part-time internship with expectation for a start date of May 2021 and current tentative end date of August 2021, with potential to continue through the fall 2021 term.

The candidate must be applicable to receive college credit. This position is an unpaid internship that requires 10-15 hours per week spread over 2-3 days per week during normal business hours (9:00am to 5:00pm). 

Given the current environment, this position will be onboarded as a remote/virtual position, with the opportunity to eventually work in-person at the Choose NJ office in Newark, NJ.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the business development team in the preparation of requests for information from site selectors, real estate brokers and other key service providers
  • Assists with industry data, workforce development reports, statistics and analysis to support responses to customers for information
  • Researches data and information to support the creation of marketing collateral materials and the website
  • Crafts reports comparing New Jersey’s costs of living, taxes, and regulations to other states.
  • Collaborates with state agencies, county economic development offices, and utility companies to support client needs.
  • Supports with preparation of client presentations using PowerPoint
  • Perform research, analysis, provide insight to the management team to drive sound decision-making.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree master’s degree program in public policy, planning, economics and/or related fields
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent research capabilities including data mining, mapping, and business analytics
  • Familiarity with and/or interest in economic development issues preferred
  • Resourceful, well organized, deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and capable of taking initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required
  • Must receive college credit
