DraftKings’ new castle: 7,500 sq.ft. Hoboken office
The stakes just got a little higher for sports betting in the Garden State.
Boston-based global sports technology company DraftKings cut the ribbon on its new 7,500-square-foot office in Hoboken on Tuesday.
The space will serve over 50 employees, and is loaded with modern technological features such as Dashboards, Zoom Rooms and a television wall.
“The new office space will allow us to increase our presence in the Garden State and bring even more innovation and offerings to our customers here,” said DraftKings co-founder and Chief Operating Office Paul Liberman. “We’re looking forward to becoming a bigger part of the New Jersey tech scene as we grow our products, creating the best betting and daily fantasy experience in the market.”
DraftKings has found some success in the state over the past year. It was the first to bring a mobile and online sportsbook to market in the state. The Sportsbook app it released last year has taken over 20 million bets that have paid out over half a billion dollars.
“The first year of legalized sports betting in New Jersey exceeded all of our expectations and projections,” Liberman said.
“Since the launch of our Sportsbook, we have seen an unprecedented amount of growth,” said Jamie Shea, DraftKings’ head of Sportsbook digital. “As we look to build on the success of our Sportsbook product even further, the new office will help us provide even better odds, content and rewards to the wonderful people of New Jersey and beyond.”
DraftKings opened a physical sportsbook in Atlantic City at Resorts Casino & Hotel.
The office in Hoboken will be the second DraftKings office to open this year, with the other being its new 105,000-square-foot headquarters in Boston’s Back Bay that opened last month. DraftKings said its new Hoboken office takes design cues from the headquarters in Boston.
DraftKings, founded in 2012 by Liberman, Matt Kalish and Jason Robins, offers daily fantasy sports contests across 12 professional sports in eight countries including the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia.
