Choose New Jersey Announces Productive Q3 2023 With Expansion of “This is New Jersey” Campaign and Successful East Asia Mission

Newark, NJ — Choose New Jersey, New Jersey’s leading nonprofit business attraction organization, today announced a productive third quarter of 2023, highlighted by the expansion of the “This is New Jersey” marketing campaign and preparations for an economic mission to East Asia.

Building upon efforts in the first half of the year, the Choose New Jersey team traveled to Taiwan in August in preparation for the October New Jersey East Asia economic mission. The successful nine-day, Governor Murphy-led mission included meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-Wen, prominent corporate executives and university leaders, and the signing of 27 MOUs and agreements. The mission also featured the announcement by Governor Murphy of Choose New Jersey’s plans to open the New Jersey Asia-Pacific Center in Taipei City, Taiwan, in 2024. The office will be the fifth international office for Choose New Jersey and will further strengthen the state’s economic and cultural relationship with East Asia.

“Choose New Jersey continues to be a fundamental contributor to the state’s economic growth and a leader in marketing New Jersey to the rest of the world,” said Ralph LaRossa, Chairman of Choose New Jersey and Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of PSEG. “The work of the entire team during this third quarter is already coming to fruition. We’ve seen the tremendous success of the East Asia Mission, which will continue to have positive impacts for years to come.”

During the quarter, Choose New Jersey President and CEO Wes Mathews also participated in the Invest: North and Central Jersey conference, where he moderated a panel on how economic trends will impact New Jersey’s economy and business community. The event was another opportunity for Choose New Jersey to talk directly with the business community about the state’s economic momentum and value proposition.

This quarter was devoted to amplifying our message at home and abroad,” said Wes Mathews, President & CEO of Choose New Jersey. “Seeing our ‘This Is New Jersey’ billboards and digital banners around the state and online reminds us all of how much pride we should have in our great state. And being able to share that pride and economic successes with our partners underscored our mantra that New Jersey is an ideal American state for innovative businesses around the world.”

In addition, Q3 also featured the expansion of Choose New Jersey’s “This is New Jersey” business attraction advertising campaign. The promotion included wrapped Lyft cars in New York City, Jersey City, and the Jersey Shore, and “This is New Jersey” LED trucks that ran along the shore. In partnership with the New Jersey Devils and the New York Giants, Choose New Jersey created assets that will run at the Prudential Center throughout the hockey season and at MetLife Stadium during the football season. An ad campaign featuring a new video showcasing the state’s key industries, universities, open spaces, stadiums, and more highlighted the fact that “you can do anything here.”
